Autism-Friendly Features

Chime System Alerts
Our portable chime system alerts you to certain doors opening and the downstairs bunk room window, providing peace of mind throughout the villa, day or night.
Water & Electrical Safety Systems
The house bathroom includes a water shut-off to prevent flooding, and the downstairs bunkroom has an electrical shut-off to support healthy sleep routines.
Enclosed Patio
The patio area is secured with a metal fence and gate to prevent elopement.
Security Mechanisms
Safety features include a combination sliding lock at the top of the front door, magnetic locks on kitchen and bathroom cabinets, and a code-locked pantry handle.

“We are a special needs family of four. Our 13 year old son has severe autism. This is the FIRST place we have stayed where we did not have to re-arrange ANYTHING in the space. Usually, the first thing we do is re-arrange furniture, lamps, mirrors, art work etc to make the space safe for our son. Our son has food allergies so we always need a full-kitchen when we travel with him. The kitchen was amazing – it had everything we needed (which is another first). Cooking oil, an assortment of spices, crockpot, plenty of pots/pans/utensils, dishes, bowls … we did not have to bring one thing from home. There were magnetic cabinet locks to prevent access and a doorbell to notify us if our son opened his door. The attention to detail in the home meant we could RELAX knowing our son was safe. The home is spacious, well-designed with a large porch overlooking the lake. We did 2 ATV rides which our son enjoyed. We also walked around the ranch – our son enjoyed the freedom of space! My husband taught our 11 year old daughter how to fish. One night, the owners pulled out the telescope and we saw Jupiter and then made s’mores. A wonderful, peaceful and relaxing few days for all of us! We will definitely be back!”
